Jan Jakub Lipinski embarked on his journey in violin making at the age of 21. From 2013 to 2014, he immersed himself in the craft in the workshop of Polish luthier Krzysztof Pawlikowski. Building on this foundation, he then pursued formal studies at the luthiery faculty of the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan, starting in 2014.

After earning his bachelor's degree, Jan Jakub delved further into his craft through a 5-month apprenticeship at Jan Bartoś's workshop in Paris. He pursued master-level luthiery studies at the Academy of Music in Poznań during this time. In 2018 and 2019, he honed his skills under the guidance of Jacek Wesołowski, a renowned maker of baroque instruments and restorer based in Gdansk.

The turning point in Jan Jakub's career came in 2019 when he began receiving numerous awards and recognitions for the exceptional quality of his instruments. Notably, he clinched the bronze medal at the prestigious International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Making Competition in 2021. His list of accolades and achievements continues to grow.

Since 2021, Jan Jakub has forged a collaborative partnership with Piotr Pielaszek, showcasing his commitment to advancing the art of violin making. His journey is marked by a series of significant recognitions, including a Gold medal for a violin at the International Włodzimierz Kaminski Violin Making Competition in 2019 and a Silver medal at the International Baroque Violin Making Competition in Malta in 2020.
