About the maker

Helge Netland, born in Bergen, Norway in 1959, now has his ateliers in Winterthur, Switzerland and Punta Sal, Peru. His journey in bowmaking began under Benoît Rolland in Brittany, France, mastering techniques inspired by 19th-century Parisian master bowmakers. As an accomplished violinist, Netland integrates his musical expertise into the crafting process, meticulously refining each bow's musicality from its inception. His bows are played by prominent musicians such as Janine Jansen, Arve Tellefsen, Rosanne Philippens, Thomas Zehetmair, Henning Kraggerud, Ilja Gringolts, Jürg Dähler, Éric Maria Couturier and Samuel Niederhauser.
