This viola has been played by a professional violist for well over a decade, so it is nicely played in and ready for its next owner. It has been regularly serviced by Jacob von der Lippe since it was made, so it is in optimum condition. A unique aspect about this instrument is the one-piece top and back - very rare to see! There is a real diamond embedded in the tailpiece and the pegs are gold plated.

  2. Meet us in Oslo. You can meet us in person and try your instrument in the wonderful acoustics at Gamle Raadhus Scene in the heart of Oslo. You are welcome to try all of our fiddles and bows there.

About the maker

One of Norway’s most prominent and acknowledged violinmakers, Jacob von der Lippe has been making instruments for musicians at home and abroad since 1998. Jacob’s instruments are coming out of the tradition of the Italian masters. He trained at the “Istituto Professionale Internazionale per l’Artigianato Liutario e del Legno ‘A. Stradivari’ “ in Cremona, Italy. Jacob von der Lippe’s instruments have a sound focusing upon warmth, projection and richness in overtones. In recent years, Jacob has taken out the essence of his entire experience and developed his own model for violins, violas and cellos.‎
